James "Jim" David Giesler, 75 of West Concord, died of natural causes, April 19, 2023, at his home.

Jim was born August 11, 1947, in Rochester, Minnesota the son of Gilbert and Florence (Vangness) Giesler. He attended school in West Concord and graduated in 1965. After high school, he was drafted into the Army and served in the Vietnam War. He married Prudence 'Prudi' Plevke on May 13, 1972, at Hegre Lutheran Church West Concord and the couple later separated.

After his military discharge, Jim worked several jobs around Dodge County until he settled into a 26-year career with the US Postal Service as a Mail Carrier until his retirement.

Jim is survived by three sons, Darrin (Carrie) Giesler of Mantorville; Greg (Calli) Giesler of Dodge Center; Brian Giesler of West Concord; seven grandchildren, Gavin, Addison, Corbin, Cale, Greta, Urijah, and Londyn; three brothers, Charlie (Paula) Giesler of West Concord, Joe (Le Anne) Wangen of Spicer, MN and Josh (Laura) Wangen of Hawick, MN; two sisters, LaVonne (Terry) Boeder of Tucson, AZ, and Susan (Charles) Ostendorf of Nevis, MN, along with many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Florence and stepfather, Bob Wangen.

A private family burial is planned at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.
