James W. Kelling, 81, of Medford, MN died Friday, November 10, 2023 at Medford Senior Care.

Jim was born on January 27, 1942 in Waseca, MN, the son of Lyle and Ella Kelling. He grew up in Otisco, MN and graduated from Waseca High School in 1960. James married Kathleen Staples on August 24, 1963 at Peace Lutheran Church in Morris. They lived in Waseca until 1966, when they moved to Owatonna. He worked for Wickes Lumber until it closed, and then for Alexander Lumber until he retired. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. As an avid sportsman, Jim enjoyed a variety of activities including hunting, fishing, and watching the Vikings and Twins games. In his free time, he liked traveling to casinos around the state.

Jim is survived by; three sons, Kevin (Christine) Kelling of Owatonna, Keith Kelling of Owatonna, and Brian (Jill Hebert) Kelling of Medford, WI; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister Donna (Gary) Feucht of Lakeville, brother Bob (Nancy) Kelling of Waseca,  a sister-in-law Corrine Kelling of Minnetonka, several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathleen, one grandchild and a brother Gordon Kelling.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18th at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
