James "Lou" Wanous, age 87, of Owatonna, died Monday, August 3, 2020 at his home.
He was born on September 29, 1932, in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Louis and Mary (Hanzlicek) Wanous. He married Donna Anhorn on January 4, 1957, and they later divorced. He then married Lois Holthus on September 27, 1975. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Masons (Past Master of Star in the East Lodge No. 33), the American Legion and was an avid golfer and bowler.
He is survived by his siblings, Dan (Michelle) Wanous of Manhattan Beach, CA and Mary Lou Bailey of Redlands, CA; step-sons, Leroy (Becky) Holthus, Lynn (Diane) Holthus, Lane (Dawn) Holthus, Loel (Lynne) Holthus, Lee (Diane) Holthus; step-daughter, Linda Erdman (Tom Strand); 2 granddaughters, Jacia (Andrew) Andrusko and Jenna Wanous and their mother, Patty Wanous; great-grandson, Beau; 15 step-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois Wanous; son Kevin Wanous; step-son, Larry Holthus and step-grandson, Daniel Holthus.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, August 6th from 9:30 - 10:30 AM . A Memorial Service will be held August 6, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Jacie Richmond officiating. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Owatonna.
