James F. Selle, 78, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at his daughter's home in Corona, California. James was born December 31, 1931 in Dodge Center, Minnesota the son of William and Hazel (Dell) Selle. He was raised and attended school in Dodge Center. He then worked in carpentry and helped on family farms. James was united in marriage to Marion Bromley on June 29, 1949 in First Presbyterian Church, Claremont. They later moved to California where James worked construction before starting his own construction company, Selle Construction. After retirement, they moved back to Minnesota and made their home in Owatonna. Marion died in March of 2007. Recently James moved back to California to be by his children. James was an avid golfer and enjoyed socializing with his many friends. Before and after retirement, James and Marion enjoyed traveling to other countries. He was a member of the American Legion Club and also the Elks Club. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his two sons. James loved spending time with his children, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by daughter, Pam (and Gary) Brown of Corona, CA; two sons, Van (and Vickie) Selle of Oak Hills, CA: Brett (and Shelley) Selle of Scottsdale, AZ: brother, Vern Selle of Byron; brother and sister-in-law, Richard (and Bonnie) Bromley of Owatonna; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion, his parents, brothers, Count, Hogan, Lloyd, Edward, Everett and a sister, Betty Thomas. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, March 29, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, Claremont with The Reverend Robert Hamilton officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center. Memorials are preferred to the James Selle Family.
