Jana Earline Small, 72, of Medford, MN, formerly of Salix, IA, died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Kenyon Sunset Home. She was born January 23, 1939 in Sloan, Iowa the daughter of John and Jane (Baker) Dunagan. Jana graduated from Sloan High School in Sloan, IA in 1957. She married Fred Linscott in 1957 and together they had two sons. Jana worked at the Salix Elevator and later in the lab at the Farmland Bean Plant. On Oct. 31, 1981 she married Francis Small at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, IA. He preceded her in death in 2002. Jana also worked at Pioneer Bank in Sergeant Bluff, IA and retired in 2007. She loved spending time with her husband, Francie. The two of them enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling together. Jana had an amazing sense of humor and was always full of life. Above all, she cherished the time she could spend with her grandchildren. Jana is survived by her sons, Glenn Linscott of Ottawa, KS, Steven (Teresa) Linscott of West Concord, MN; step-children, Linda (Steve) Hopkins, Connie Warnicki, Margie (Mike) Bennett, Evelyn Murkins, Bill Small, Donny Small; 11 grandchildren; brother, Darrell (Nola) Dunagan of Sergeant Bluff, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; brothers, Wayne, Morris, Mike, John; sister, Francis and step-son, Dick. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 3pm to 5pm. and at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Salix, IA on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salix, IA. Interment wil be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
