Jane Shelley Sticha, 66, of Owatonna, died Sunday, February 7, 2016 at her home from complications of Multiple Sclerosis that she fought valiantly for 25 years. Jane was born July 21, 1949 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of James and Marcie (Bowers) Mitchell. She graduated Owatonna High School in 1967 and continued her education at the Minnesota School of Business. Jane married Gary Sticha on July 19, 1973 in Sioux Falls, SD. In 1974, they moved to California and returned to Owatonna in 1991. Jane worked in the insurance industry including Federated Insurance and as an Administrative Assistant for Allstate in Sacramento, CA. Jane was a beautiful person inside and out. Her spirit was always shining and she cared deeply for others. She enjoyed keeping friends and family connected and was able to do so with her computer and ipad. Jane also loved flowers and birdwatching. She is survived by her husband, Gary Sticha of Owatonna; sisters, Judy Kubiatowicz of Plymouth, MN and Susan Williams of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; special son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, Jerry (Brooke) Sunde and Minka, of Brooklyn Park; brother-in-law, John Sticha of Owatonna; sister-in-law, Renee Gillespie of Owatonna; nieces and nephews, Kyle (Deb) Lewis, Reed (Jacki) Lewis, Tony Kedziora, John J.P. (Martine) Sticha, Andrew (Jamie) Sticha, Erin (Justin Ohnstad) Gillespie, Katie Gillespie, and Ryan Gillespie. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jayme Sticha; brothers-in-law, Michael Kubiatowicz and Bruce Sticha. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home. Memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
