Janet Mae Frederick, 87, of Owatonna, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Homestead Hospice House. Janet Mae Frederick, daughter of William and Genevieve (Hart) Staska was born on July 26, 1930 in Steele Center. Janet graduated from Owatonna High School with the Class of 1948. She started working for Uber Glove Factory. She was united in marriage to Charles Frederick on May 29, 1949 at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Owatonna. She enjoyed sewing and other crafts. She also ran a Day Care for 33 years before retiring. She and Charles went to Texas for with winter for the next 18 years. She loved square dancing for Do-Si-Do and Steele Steppers. They also belong to the Ow Bo Good Sam Camping Group. Janet was a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and a member of the Spinning Wheels Square Dance Club. She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Bonnie Frazier of Albert Lea, and Joan Frederick of Chanhassen; son, Scott Frederick of York Haven, PA; granddaughters, Nicole (Corey) Fuss of Milnor, ND and Karla (Ryan Wentzel) Frederick of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Coralea and Colter Fuss of Milnor, ND; sisters, Colleen Borchert and Sandra (George) Winzenburg; brothers, Berlyn (Kathy) Staska, Norman (Joan) Staska and Ronald (Claudette) Staska; sister-in-law, Betty Mitchell and many nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, William and Genevieve Staska; parents-in-law, Allen and Lenora Frederick; son, Dan Frederick; son-in-law, Orlan Frazier, Jr; grandson, Gregory Frederick and brothers-in-law, James Mitchell and Ludwig Borchert. A Memorial Service will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service.
