Jeanette B. Kispert passed away peacefully Friday, January 31, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester MN.
She was born April 15, 1934, in Moland MN to Peder and Ida (Lee) Houglum. In 1952 she graduated from Medford High School. She met her husband Vaughn while waitressing and he said he would be back from the service to marry her. They wed October 9, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford. Since their marriage the couple has lived in Owatonna where they raised their five children. Jeanette worked in the library at Washington School, the Owatonna Peoples Press, assisted with Special Needs students at Owatonna High School and was a caregiver at various group homes.
Jeanette was a devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed planting and caring for her many flowers that thrived around her home and patio. She loved visiting her kids in San Diego and planning many trips around the country. She and Vaughn traveled the entire Route 66 in their Mustang convertible and also to Washington by Amtrak to their grandson's wedding.
She is survived by her son Thomas Kispert of Mankato, daughters Julie Hessom of Poway, CA, Carolyn (Mark) Bender of San Diego, CA, Janice Coulombe of Owatonna, grandchildren Tyler Kispert, Casey (Kennedy) Kispert, Caron (Andrew) Fischer, Cayla Hessom, Derek Hessom, Ellyria Barrett, Calvin (Kayla) Barrett, Sarah Coulombe, Ashley Coulombe, seven great grandchildren and Sister Charlotte Bonde.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vaughn Kispert, son Timothy Kispert, son-in-laws Steven Barrett, Chris Coulombe, and Anthony Hessom.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Medford, with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service.
