Jeanne Deloris Boesch, formerly of New Ulm, MN died peacefully at her Medford Senior Living Center home on November 21, 2022, at the age of 95. Cared for by family, assisted-living attendants and Allina Hospice, she succumbed to natural causes.
Jeanne was born May 22, 1927, to Eugene and Luella (LaCroix) Current in Amboy, MN. Luella later married Peter Kopp, who adopted Jeanne and her brother Vern. Due to Peter's work as a construction boss, the family moved frequently from project to project until settling back in Amboy.
Jeanne Kopp met Merlyn Boesch at Lutheran Church Youth Group, and they married June 29, 1947, in Amboy. They farmed for ten years in Amboy and three years in Kenyon. The family lived for a short time in Williams, MN. Abandoning farming, the family relocated to Truman where Jeanne worked at Tony Downs Food plant in St. James. In 1965 the family moved to New Ulm. She was employed by 3M and Windings, Inc. until retirement. Merlyn died in 2015.
A loving and caring mother and wife, Jeanne was by nature extremely active. She enjoyed cooking, plants, gardening, breeding fish and birds, yardwork and shoveling her own walks of snow. She was always there for anyone in need, be it street workers who got a popsicle on a hot day or the garbage collector who got a bag of cookies to eat on his route. She was a giver. It was hard not to love Jeanne.
She is survived by her son, Stephen (and Maura) of Kettering, OH; daughter, Rhonda (and Steven) McMahan of Medford; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother Vern Kopp; half-brother Ray Current; and grandson Kip.
A future, private family graveside service will be held at Current Cemetery, Sleepy Eye, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to donor preference.
