Jennifer Lou Petersburg, 90, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Foxdale Senior Living, Waseca. She was born August 26, 1929 in Arkansaw, Wisconsin the daughter of Edward and Alta (Wagner) Chilson. After graduating from High School, Jennifer moved to the Twin Cities where she worked for Brown & Bigelow. During this time, she met Donald W. Petersburg and the two were united in marriage on July 5, 1952 in Spring Valley, WI. After a few years of marriage, the couple moved to a farm in rural Dodge County where they lived for over 60 years. Jennifer raised her children and worked alongside her husband on the farm. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in circle. Jennifer enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, was a great cook, did a lot of canning over the years and delivered for Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed a bit of traveling during retirement. She is survived by her daughters, Catherine (and Don) Sell of Cannon Falls, Cynthia (and Wayne) Lidster of Dalhart, TX; sons, David (and Carmen) Petersburg of Zumbrota, Donald T. (and Dawn) Petersburg of Purcellville, VA, Michael Petersburg of Owatonna, Mark (and Deborah) Petersburg of Goddard, KS; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, Gladys "Chile" Browne of River Falls, WI and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Petersburg; 9 brothers; 6 sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 10:30am at Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
