Obituary

Jerry Ralph Schultz, 71, of Owatonna, died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Homestead Hospice House. He was born January 11, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the son of Otto and Lydia (Heup) Schultz. Jerry grew up near Milwaukee, WI where he attended and graduated from West Allis High School in 1965. He served in the US Air Force from 1965 to 1969. On June 27, 1970 he married Mary Wachholz in Monroe, WI. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Winona State University. Jerry worked as an air traffic controller in Farmington, Crystal, Duluth, Milwaukee and Rochester until 1981. He was then involved in Energy Consulting prior to starting his career in Real Estate with Elcor Realty in Rochester. Jerry retired in 2005 at which time he and his wife moved to their cabin in northern Wisconsin. Jerry was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved fishing, deer hunting and making fishing lures to sell in local bait shops. He is survived by his wife, Mary Schultz of Owatonna; son, Scott Schultz of Rochester; daughter, Lisa (and Zach) Adams of Plymouth; grandsons, Colin Adams and Jack Adams of Plymouth; sister, Phyllis (and Elmo) Brooks of Richmond, VA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Todd Buegler officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice House, Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund or to the donor's choice.
