Joan J. Dalen, 88, of Owatonna, died Friday, May 31, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.

She was born June 14, 1935 in Mankato the daughter of Benjamin and Goldie (Gitter) Kubishak. Joan graduated from Mankato High School. She worked as the housekeeping supervisor for 20 years at the Owatonna Hospital. Joan enjoyed flower gardening and having coffee with her friends.

She is survived by daughter, Jamie (and Tom) Sweet of Owatonna; sons, Dean Nelson of Owatonna, Kevin Nelson of Owatonna; grandchildren, Amanda (and John) Simon, Mike (and Theresa) Sweet, Chelsey Nelson, Jesse (and Clair) Dushek, Mindy (and Laurence) Hoppa, Kaela (and Joey) Bourg and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don Dalen; son, Tim Nelson; daughter, Sue Ballstadt; sister, Delores Miller; brother, James Kubishak.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10:30am at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Amanda Floy officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
