Joan M. Keller, 65, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Homestead Hospice House. Joan Marion Broughton was born March 13, 1945 in Waseca, Minnesota the daughter of Glen and Helen (Steinbauer) Broughton. When she was young, she moved with her family to Owatonna and here she was raised and attended school graduating from Owatonna High School in 1963. She was united in marriage to Roger Keller on June 29, 1963 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They made their home in Owatonna where Joan worked at DeBoers and later for Josten's and Gopher Sport. She then began a 25 year career working at Federated Insurance as an account representative. Joan retired in 2007. Joan enjoyed spending time at Cedar Lake where she and Roger stayed during the summer months for 40 years. After Joan's retirement they began traveling south to Arizona. She enjoyed visiting friends, playing cards games like Euchre, going to Treasure Island and watching the Vikings. She is survived by her husband Roger Keller of Owatonna; a daughter, Rita (and Tim) Klages of Elysian; a son, Terry Keller of Madison Lake; her parents, Glen (and Helen) Broughton of Owatonna; a brother, Gary (and Mona) Broughton of Owatonna; two sisters, Diane (and Jim) Drache of Owatonna; Barb (and Earl) Lennon of Apache Junction; and two granddaughters, Jacie and Kaleigh. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, October 10, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 11, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Edward McGrath officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
