Joan Irene Proulx, 72, of Owatonna, Minnesota, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Residence. Joan Irene Patterson was born July 2, 1936 in West Concord, Minnesota the daughter of Robert and Luella (Bornholdt) Patterson. Joan was raised near West Concord and graduated as valedictorian from West Concord High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Donald Proulx on June 29, 1957 in Congregational Church. She was employed at Josten's in Owatonna for 26 years. Joan enjoyed playing bridge, camping and fishing. She was especially proud of her family. Joan is survived by her husband Donald of Owatonna, MN, two daughters Kim (and Ron) Tillman of Sartell, MN; Julie (and Brian) Johnson of Austin, MN; her son Scott Proulx of Owatonna, MN; her brother Donald (and June) Patterson of Rochester, MN and five grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Kenneth and a sister, Helen McCarthy. Funeral services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with The Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in Michaelson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Hospice Homecare of Owatonna and the American Cancer Society.
