Obituary

JoAnn I. Davis, 74, of Medford, died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at her home. JoAnn was born July 21, 1935 in Lake Crystal, Minnesota the daughter of Joseph and Myrtle (Davis) Owens. She was raised and attended school in Lake Crystal graduating from Lake Crystal High School in 1953. JoAnn then worked for the Lake Crystal National Bank. She was united in marriage to Oryle Davis on August 12, 1959 in Lake Crystal. They moved to Owatonna where she worked at the Security Bank. In 1961, they moved to Medford and there she worked as a para-professional for the Medford School District from 1977 until 1997. JoAnn had many hobbies, but she especially enjoyed sewing, collecting antique dishes and furniture and restoring furniture. She enjoyed cooking, baking and volunteered at the Pink Pantry and at her church. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and also a member of the Red Hat and 500 Club. She volunteered to serve Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Oryle Davis of Medford; a daughter, Deborah Ward of Jacksonville, FL; two sons, Bruce (and Char) Davis of Montgomery; Steve (and Amanda) Davis of Glencoe; two brothers, Glen Owens of Lake Crystal; Raymond Owens of Lake Crystal; her five grandchildren, Greyson (and Amanda) Ward; Braden (and MaryBeth) Ward, all of Jacksonville; Kelsey Davis and Brad Davis, both of Montgomery; and Natalie Davis of Glencoe. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and three brothers. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 15 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 16 at 10:30 AM at United Methodist Church with Pastor Loren Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
