Joann Gomez, 75, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Owatonna Hospital. Joann was born July 25, 1937 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Harold and Mary Ann (Trembley) Ganser. She graduated from high school in California. Joann met James Gomez in California and the couple was united in marriage on January 27, 1963 in Yuma, AZ. Joann was an at home mom and homemaker caring for her three girls. The family also lived in San Gabriel, CA and then in Alamogordo, NM. Jim died while living in New Mexico. Joann moved to Glendale, AZ and later to Owatonna. She is survived by a daughter Elaina Gomez of Owatonna; two brothers Max Ganser of Issaquah, WA; Steven Ganser of Irvine, CA; a sister Kathleen Lay of Gridley, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband James Gomez; her parents and two daughters, Celia and Lucia. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor John Linde officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
