Joanne D. Flom, 83, of Kenyon died on December 16, 2023, at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

Joanne was born the daughter of Elmer and Dorothy (Lindeman) Stoltzmann on March 13, 1940, in St. Paul. She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul Harding High School in 1958. She worked for the State of Minnesota in the Employment Security Office. On September 12, 1964, she was united in marriage to Elroy Flom at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Paul. They made their home near Kenyon where they farmed and raised their family. She was the Secretary for Holden Lutheran for 42 years and also worked as a farm wife and home maker. She enjoyed baking, flower gardening, attending sporting, musical, 4-H and other school events for her children and grandchildren. She was very active in church serving as WELCA president for many years. She also taught Sunday school and VBS. She served as Goodhue County Extension Home Council Officer, 4-H adult leader and Riverview Manor Board of Directors. Joanne enjoyed her monthly couples card group and playing Bunco with a group of friends. Joanne will be remembered for her warm welcoming kindness and her generous way of supporting and giving to others.

She is survived by her children, Valerie Ashland of Kenyon, Brian (and Karin) Flom of Kenyon, Verone (and Eric) Miller of Zumbrota; seven grandchildren, Kayla (Nathan) Mullen and Emily Ashland, Brittney (Austin) Arnold, Megan Flom, Lauren Miller, Aaron Miller and Ethan Miller, great grandchildren Maya and Chloe Mullen. She is also survived by her sister Carol (Larry) Best of Woodbury. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Elroy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Michaelson Funeral Home in Kenyon and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Holden Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Holden Lutheran Church and Holden WELCA.
