Jody Lee Severson, 70, of Owatonna, died Sunday, August 18, 2019 at KODA Living Community. He was born July 7, 1949 in Owatonna the son of Sylvester and Jeanne (Matejcek) Severson. Jody graduated from Owatonna High School. He served in the US Army and then returned to Minnesota. Most of his life he worked and lived in the Twin Cities area. In 2010, he moved back to Owatonna. Jody loved sports. He was an avid fan of Owatonna High School and Minnesota Gophers sports. Jody enjoyed being an usher for Gopher hockey and Gopher basketball games. He also enjoyed building model airplanes. He is survived by his brother, Daniel Severson of Owatonna; niece, Molly (and Shane) Pettis of Owatonna; nephew, Brad (and Meg) Severson of Woodbury. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marshall Severson. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers at St. Croix Hospice, KODA Living Community and Alternative Resolutions.
