Joe Luiz Garza, 61, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 17, 1957, in Owatonna the son of Pedro J. Garza, Sr. and Irene (Castillo) Garza. He grew up in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1976. He married Flor O. Perez and they had a daughter, Alexandra and later divorced. Later on, he married Monica Hasher. Joe was employed for a number of years at Wenger and Cybex in Owatonna. He enjoyed playing softball and football, was an avid pool league player; enjoyed going to dirt track races and was a devoted Vikings fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and was proud to be a father to Alexandra. Joe will be remembered as being a friend to many and having a delightful smile all the time. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Monica; daughter, Alexandra Garza; siblings, Mary (Phil) Pena, Rosa (Mike) Reyes, Tomas Garza and Barbara (Alonso) Rosales; his beloved dog, Daisy and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro, Sr. and Irene; brother Pedro Pete Garza, Jr and twin brothers, Roberto and Rodolfo Garza. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Thursday, December 6th from 5:00-7:00pm and on Friday one hour prior to the service. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00am at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Clinton Falls Township.
