John "Jack" O. Johnson, 75, of Sturgeon Lake, died Friday, April 5, 2019 at his home.
He was born June 13, 1943 in Owatonna the son of Nels and Minnie (Brockmiller) Johnson. Jack attended Owatonna High School and later Vo-Tech school in Faribault. On March 15, 1964 he married his high school sweetheart Delores "Dee" Broulik at Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford. The couple moved to Faribault in 1969 and later to Lake Mazaska. Jack worked at K&G Manufacturing in Faribault for 35 years. After retiring, Jack and Dee moved to Sturgeon Lake and spent winters in Florida.
Jack enjoyed family reunions, playing cards, fishing, golfing, archery and pulling skiers and tubers behind the boat. He had the unique skill of easily connecting with people and was a friend to all who knew him. Jack loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Delores Johnson of Sturgeon Lake; sons, Brian (and Teri) Johnson of Red Wing, Todd (and Tricia) Johnson of Duluth; grandchildren, Dayton Johnson, Hailee Johnson, Foster Johnson; sister-in-law, Keiko Johnson of Faribault and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Donna Gedicke, Joyce Rosecke and brother, Jerry Johnson.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm and at Aurora Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 9:30am to 10:30am. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 10:30am at Aurora Lutheran Church with Reverend Stephanie Wood officiating. Memorials are preferred to the Johnson Family Reunion or to the donor's choice.
