John William Jensen, 82, of Owatonna, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Benedictine Living Community with his loving wife Lynn at his side.

He was born December 28, 1942, in Askov, Minnesota to Albert and Olga (Anderson) Jensen. The family moved to Red Wing where they lived until 1967, when John moved to Owatonna. He worked at OMC for 19 years until its closing. He then worked at Truth Hardware until his retirement in 2008.

John met the love of his life, Lynn Viegut, on Thanksgiving Day in 1967. John and Lynn were united in marriage on December 13, 1969, in Medford Minnesota, and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary together. John loved animals, having many fur babies over the years and watching birds outside. He also loved to watch movies, draw and spent a lot of time reading.

He is survived by his wife Lynn Jensen of Owatonna; sister, Rose (and Edgar) Ricks; brothers Virgil (and Lucille) Jensen, LeRoy (and Shirley) Jensen; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Jensen, Ramona Mensing, Alberta Turnbell; father and mother in law, Orvis and Vivian Viegut.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
