John Lloyd Williams, always known as Lloyd, 93, of Owatonna, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Homestead Hospice House.
He was born August 23, 1922 in Cambria the son of Edwin and Gena (Nelson) Williams. Lloyd graduated from Owatonna High School in 1940 before serving in the US Navy. Following his military service he returned to Owatonna and began his career with Smith Electric. He worked as an electrician with Smith until retiring in 1986.
Lloyd was a member, Commander and Financial Officer of the American Legion. He was a long time member of the Electricians Union. Lloyd served as a trustee and an usher at Trinity Lutheran Church. Lloyd also dedicated much of his time to being a Cub Scout Leader. Woodworking and fishing were his favorite hobbies. Upon his retirement he bought himself a fishing boat and spent more time enjoying his hobby.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Williams of Owatonna; daughter, Debbie Williams of Owatonna; son, Mark Williams of Owatonna; daughter in law, Gloria Williams of Owatonna; grandchildren, Shari (and Tony) Huinker, Matthew Williams, Jeremy Williams all of Owatonna; great grandchildren, Grant Huinker, Auzztin Williams and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Williams; 2 brothers; 3 sisters.
Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or to the donor's choice.
