John F. Williams, 85, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Medford Senior Living. He was born February 2, 1930 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Paul and Mary (Hickok) Williams. He was raised until a young age at the Owatonna State School. Graduated from Owatonna High School in 1948 where he was involved with band and music which he enjoyed very much. He then went to Mankato Teachers Normal School, Gustavus Adolphus, and Mankato Technical College. John then joined the United States Army and served from 1951-1952 being honorably discharged. John did many odd jobs around the Owatonna area. He played "Taps" for military funerals and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of "Car Nuts", he enjoyed carpentry and working on lawn mowers. He is survived by cousins, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held later this summer at Havana Cemetery. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
