Jolene Mae Kennedy, 48, of Eagan, Minnesota was called home to be with the Lord on June 15, 2014. She was reunited with her family, loved ones, and those she cared about. She was born May 3, 1966 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Jerome and Annette (Sommer) Kubista. She was a 1984 graduate of Owatonna High School. In 1988, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota-Morris. She graduated from Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota earning a Master of Business Administration degree in 1989. Jolene married Joel Kennedy in 1991 and they shared a 20 year union. During her career Jolene held positions as Computer Specialist, Bookkeeper, Entrepreneur, Teacher, and Homemaker. Jolene loved caring for her children and being involved in their activities. She also enjoyed friends, family, music, golfing, volunteering and especially sunshine. She ran marathons and enjoyed everything outdoors. She will be missed for her loving spirit and caring ways. She is survived by her daughter, Jasmine Kennedy and son, Jordan Kennedy; father, Jerome Kubista of Owatonna; siblings, David (Debi) Kubista of Rochester, Michael (Sherry) Kubista of Owatonna, Julie Kubista (Richard Michael) of Owatonna, Mark (Tammy) Kubista of Mankato, Kari Sletten of Ellendale, Laurie (Bob) Evenson of Owatonna, Dennis (Karyn) Kubista of Owatonna, and Daniel (Sandie) Kubista of Owatonna; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Annette Kubista, sister, Denise Kubista, and brother-in-law, Allan Sletten. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
