Jon Engeseth Stordahl, 79, of Dennison, died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He was born September 2, 1935 on the family farm in Warsaw Township, Minnesota the son of Maldar and Gunda (Engeseth) Stordahl. He was baptized and confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church. Jon attended Dennison School and later Kenyon High School, graduating in 1953. He married Menetta Aagard on September 17, 1955 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena, Minnesota. They moved to the family farm in Warsaw Township, where he farmed all his life. Jon was a lifelong member of Vang Lutheran Church and served on the Vang Cemetery Board for many years. He also served on the Warsaw Town Board for over 30 years, until he retired in 2014. Jon loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing eucher, watching the Twins, Vikings, and Gophers sports, along with Big Bang Theory. He is survived by his wife Menetta Stordahl of Dennison; four children, Jonathan (Carol) Stordahl of Red Wing, Jacqueline (Timothy) Meyer of Cannon Falls, Jeffrey (Kathryn) Stordahl of Kenyon, and Julene Stordahl of Dennison; son-in-law, Charles Foster of Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren, Jon Stordahl, Angela (Brian) Sydnes, Sara (Randy) Slagel, Kelsey (Stephany) Stordahl, Devyn Stordahl, Amy (Jarrod) Partlow, Samantha Abbot, and Edria Stordahl; eight great grandchildren, Sam and Etta Sydnes, Leighton and Mia Slagel, Anna, Dylan, and Menetta Partlow, and Evan Abbot; sister-in-law, Jane Stordahl of Cannon Falls; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jeanette Foster, brother, Maldar, and infant twin siblings. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at Vang Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Vang Lutheran Church with The Reverend Paul Graham officiating. Interment will be in the Vang Lutheran Church Cemetery.
