Josephine "Jody" Hames, 72, of Owatonna, Minnesota died Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Homestead Hospice House. Jody was born July 19, 1941, in Concord Township, Dodge County, Minnesota the daughter of Joseph and Dora (Sueverkruepp) Hames. She was raised near Claremont and attended school graduating from Claremont High School in 1959. She lived in Owatonna and moved to Eveleth, Minnesota where she began her career in banking with Norwest Bank. Norwest Bank changed names to Northwest Bank and eventually Wells Fargo. Jody worked for 30 years with the bank in Eveleth and then, after a transfer, she worked in Faribault and Northfield while making her home in Owatonna. She was a member of the Owatonna Eagles since 2000 and also a member of the Hayfield Legion since 1997. She enjoyed reading, playing on the computer, going to casinos and watching the Minnesota Vikings. She will be sadly missed by her son, Chris (and Kelly Campbell) Hames of Owatonna; her brothers and sisters, Irene (and Delmont) Martin of Hayfield; Allan (and Carol) Hames of Kasson; Norma Behne of Owatonna; Wayne (and Sharon) Hames of Rochester; Margaret (and Darrell) Baumgartner of Owatonna; James (and Jeannie) Hames of Salina, KS; Ann (and Jerry) Palmquist of Chisholm; as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Hames. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Father Edward McGrath officiating. Interment will be in the St. Frances de Sales Cemetery in Claremont. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice House or donor''s choice.
