Joyce M. Cassem Forsberg, 98, of Owatonna, died Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Koda Living Community. She was born July 1, 1921 in Albert Lea and raised in Owatonna by Charlie and Ella "Lala" Miller. She graduated from Owatonna High School. She worked as an operator for the telephone company. She married Robert Cassem and the couple had three children. Joyce began working at Jostens Inc as a department head in charge of the corporation's receptionists and operators. She retired from Jostens after 40 years. The couple retired to Sebring, FL and Ft. Myers, FL. After Robert's death, she met and married Freemont Forsberg. Freemont also preceded her in death after 12 years of marriage. Joyce loved to golf. She held memberships at clubs in Minnesota and Florida. She also loved going to the cabin on Lake Francis for 30 years. She was a great cook and enjoyed camping, hiking, gardening, reading and traveling. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (and Tom) Gross of Elysian; son, Grant (and Susan) Cassem of Aiken, SC; daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Cassem of Palm Springs, CA; grandchildren, Chris (and Corri) Gross, Danny (and Heidi) Gross, Jonathan (and Kerriann) Cassem, Ryan (and Jacey) Cassem, Jason (and Kelly) Cassem, Jesse (and Robert) Cassem; great grandchildren, McKenna, Gavin, Gabe, Jack, Sadie, Ethan, Ava, Carson, Kaden, Lynnea, Natalie, Stella. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Cassem, Freemont Forsberg; son, Gary Cassem. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 1:30pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
