Judith 'Judy' Peterson, 70, of Owatonna, died Monday, July 23, 2012 at Homestead Hospice House after a two and a half year battle with cancer. Judy was born December 14, 1941 in South Minneapolis the daughter of Delmar and Lois (Johnson) Krinhop. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1959 and following school, worked for a telephone company in Minneapolis. Judy was united in marriage to Gerald 'Jerry' Peterson on June 17, 1961 in Minneapolis. They moved to Walnut Grove and later to Detroit Lakes. The couple moved to Owatonna where Judy worked at Brett''s Department Store and later for the Owatonna Peoples Press. She also worked painting apartments and newly built homes. Judy enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, crafts, an 'occasional' trip to the casinos and her annual trip to Florida. She is survived by her son, Rick (and Kristine) Peterson of Owatonna; two daughters, Penny (and Tom) Vizina of Owatonna; Tracy (and Kerry) Steinberg of Owatonna; her mother, Lois (and Doug) Dodge of Faribault; her grandchildren, Caleb and Ian Vizina, Aaron, Andrew and Tate Peterson, step-grandchildren, Adam, Tyler, Ethan and Evan Steinberg, five brothers, Gary (and Ruth) Krinhop of Minneapolis; Mike (and Rita) Krinhop of Savage; Steve (and Terry) Krinhop of Eden Prairie; Robin (and Kim) Krinhop of Prior Lake; Brian (and Mona) Krinhop of Prior Lake; two sisters, Laurie (and Rick) Mann of Watertown; Kim (and Craig) Counters of Lakeville; and a sister-in-law, Gail Krinhop of Eagan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry (2006), her father and a brother, Tim Krinhop. Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church one hour prior to the service. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Julie Malone officiating. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements are with Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Owatonna Quarterback Club or the Owatonna Foundation.
