Judith Smith, age 78, of Owatonna, died Monday, May 16, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born on February 17, 1938, in Mankato, MN, the daughter of Alvin & Verna (Kienholz) Hohenstein. She grew up in Vernon Center, MN and graduated from Garden City High School, Class of 1955. Judith lived in Hanska until 1963 when she moved to Adair, IA, then to Golden, CO in 1977, and then to Owatonna in 1989. She was an avid Denver Bronco fan and an avid Elvis fan, collecting anything related to him. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by children, Kim Nelson of Sanford, FL, Lane (Debra) Anderson of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Tami (Corey Stewart) Mador of Madison Lake, MN; grandchildren, Cole Nelson, Brittany Nelson, Taylor Anderson, Tanner Anderson, Bridget Mador, Samantha Mador and Tyler Mador; great-grandchildren, Kylie Mador and Raelyn Mador and brothers, Darrell (Carole) Hohenstein of Owatonna and Todd (Rosanne) Hohenstein of Owatonna. She was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, May 21st at the Elks Club, 126 East Vine Street in Owatonna, MN.
