June A. Nelson, 97, of Owatonna, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 13, 2016. She was born in Indianola, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Mary Katherine (Anders) Hubbard. June loved family, bridge, golf, home, PEO and her many friends. June married the love of her life, Kenneth Nelson, June 10, 1944 at St. Olaf Church in Austin. They raised their three girls in Austin. June was a department manager at Sears in Austin. She moved to Owatonna with her husband in 1999 and they continued their travels to Sun City in the winters. They especially enjoyed hosting their family for winter visits while there. June was an active volunteer at church, hospital auxiliary, WAMSO, the Hormel Home, as well as other organizations. June was an elegant and gracious lady who loved and nurtured her family. She is survived by her daughters, Janelle (and George) Seebach of Edina, Melanie Nelson of Owatonna, Camille (and Pat) Wheeler of Eagan; grandchildren, Huntley (and Liz Coughlin) Miller, Charlie Miller, Brent (and Tess) Waechter-Smith, Brianna Smith, Noelle Smith, Anne (and Rodney) Jackson, Aaron (and Jamie) Wheeler, Irene Wheeler, Jason (and Lacey) Wheeler; 7 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 7 sisters and 3 brothers. Celebration services will be held Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 2pm at Michaelson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Transitional Housing of Owatonna, Trinity Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
