June Elizabeth Steinbauer, 89, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter. She was born June 1, 1920 in Parshal, North Dakota the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth (Roell) Paukert. June married Albert Steinbauer August 31, 1940 in Owatonna. She worked for Federated Insurance and retired from Josten's. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. First and foremost in her life were her family and her faith. June is survived by her daughters, Judy (and Dave) Jardine of Las Cruces, NM, Margaret (and Tom) Bolstad of St. Peter, Melissa (and Ed) Kubicek of Williamsburg, VA, Mary (and Dick) Prokes of Faribault; sons, Charles (and Lois) Steinbauer of Brainerd, Alan (and Kim) Steinbauer of Owatonna; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Betty (and Ed) Sheppard of St. Paul and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; daughter, Sara Schrom; infant son, Theodore Steinbauer; grandson, Benjamin Jardine; brothers, Harold Paukert, Theodore Paukert, Thomas Paukert, William Paukert, John Paukert, Bertram Paukert; sisters, Sybilla VonRuden, Margaret Smith, Marion Lovejoy. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 4pm to 8pm with a rosary at 4pm.Visitation will continue at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday from 9:30am to 10:30am. Funeral services will be held January 4, 2010 at 10:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Reverend Edward McGrath officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
