Junior G. Malo, 65, of Owatonna, died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Owatonna Hospital. He was born March 26, 1943 in Fairmont, Minnesota the son of Harry and Nevah (Branch) Malo. Junior graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1961, and moved to Owatonna to work for Doberstein Construction. He later married Shirley Hansen February 8, 1964 in Owatonna. Junior later worked for Anderson Sheet Metal and he and Shirley purchased Anderson Heating and Roofing in 1973. Junior and Shirley continued running Malo Roofing in Owatonna and later also in Waseca . Junior was a member of the Elks, Eagles, and American Legion. Junior enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren, he was an avid golfer, outdoorsman, and taught his sons about hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Shirley sons, Jeff (and Elizabeth) Malo, Kevin (and Angie) Malo both of Owatonna, six grandchildren Lauren, Morgan, Nolan, Ryan, Rachel, and Andrew. He is also survived by five sisters Gloria (and Ervin) Barchenger of Fairmont, MN; Janet (and Duane) Chinnow of Sacramento, CA; Joyce McLaughlin of Cuero, TX; Jean (and Bruce) Myers of Arden Hills, MN; Cheryl (and Michael) Much of Champlain, MN. His parents preceded him in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday January 12, 2009 from 4-8 PM and at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday from 10-11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday January 13, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Edward McGrath officiating. Private interment will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Owatonna Hospice House or the Donor''s Choice.
