Karl A. Pelovsky, 79, of Owatonna, went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. He was born on January 6, 1939 in Mankato, Minnesota the son of Al and Lucille (Lievers) Pelovsky. He grew up in Le Center and graduated from Le Center High School in 1956, where he had many fond memories including two State Football championships with his cousin, Jerry Pelovsky and playing basketball and baseball. He enjoyed working most of his life as a devoted Administrator/Owner of Central Health Care Center and Horizon Place both in Le Center. On October 21, 1961, he married his beloved wife, Gladyce Joseph. The couple made their home in Mankato and in December, 1969 moved to Owatonna. They both loved to travel together. Friends and family were also important to him. He enjoyed tennis, classic cars (taking them to parades and winning trophies), collecting coins, vintage model trains and planes, history, vacationing in Florida and especially spending time with his family who affectionately called him Papa. Karl's passion was to share the Good News of Jesus and did this for a time with a prison ministry, teaching Bible studies and evangelizing. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gladyce; children, Scott (Pam Sorgatz), Terry (Jill), Kristin Kubista (Jeff Blum), and Kelly Blum (Tim Blum); grandchildren, Kelsey Waterbury, Kendyl Pelovsky, Paige (Sam) Waterbury, Joshua Pelovsky, Natasha Bellefeuille (Jon); great-grandchildren, Kenzie and Naomi and his siblings, Harvey (Gayle) and Marilyn (Rod) Hruza. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church 1500 - 18th St. SE, in Owatonna with visitation beginning at 10am. A lunch reception will immediately follow the service. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Homestead Hospice House or Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church of Owatonna.
