Obituary

Kathleen A. Broughten, age 65, of Owatonna died in her home on February 12, 2023

Kathleen Ann Broughten, the daughter of Burdette and Joan (Grubish) Broughten, was born on July 27, 1957, in Faribault. She grew up in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1975. She worked for several years at the Owatonna Nursing Home in the laundry department. When the nursing home outsourced the laundry she went to work at the Owatonna Hospital in the laundry department until she retired. She enjoyed walking to work and other places around town. Kathleen also like dancing and roller skating. She will be remembered as a very caring person who loved getting together with family. She was very close with her mother and made daily phone calls to her sisters. When visiting her it seemed that church was always playing on the television unless the Country Music Awards were on. She enjoyed watching daily mass and had a large collection of Bibles.

Kathleen is survived by her sibling, Robert Broughten of LeRoy, Curtis (Debbie Quaale) Broughten of Owatonna, Patricia (Howard) Knipping of Owatonna and Nancy (Tom) Morness of Owatonna; nieces and nephews, Greg Morness, Jeff Morness, Sonya Broughten, Sara Broughten, Dallas Broughten, Lisa Broughten, Amanda Rios, Jennifer Matlock and Brandy Broughten. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Interment will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Waterville, Minnesota.
