Kaye M. Orthel, 61, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born February 10, 1952 in Preston, MN the daughter of Gordon and Leila (Grindland) Redalen. Kaye graduated from Mayo High School in 1970, and then began working in Rochester. She married Ronald Ramgren in 1975 and the couple moved to Liberty, MO, and then the couple moved back to Minnesota in 1984. The couple later divorced and remained close friends. Kaye married Phil Orthel on July 19, 1996 in Faribault. Kaye enjoyed crafts, gardening, flowers, walking, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Phil Orthel of Owatonna, her children Stephanie (and Birdie Guzman) Ramgren of Owatonna, Christopher Ramgren of Owatonna, Chadwic (Amber) Eisen-Ramgren of St. Paul, Kenton (Samantha) Ramgren of Maplewood, and Tina Ramgren of White Bear Lake. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two sisters Bonnie (Scott) Jones of Winter Park, FL and LaDonna (William) Jewson of Wabasha and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lana Anderson, infant son Jamie, and her first husband Ronald Ramgren, and a niece Lisa Anderson. Memorial service will be held Saturday September 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Orthel officiating and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. There will be a prayer service at 4:00 PM that afternoon at Root Prairie Lutheran Church in Fountain, MN followed by interment in the Root Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
