Kenneth Norman Quam, 96, of Owatonna, died Friday, September 9, 2016 at Traditions in Owatonna, Minnesota. He was born January 13, 1920 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son of Albert and Andrena (Molde) Quam. Ken farmed in Merton Township for 70 years where he raised and milked registered cows. He generously cared for his mother until her passing in 1963. Ken moved to Owatonna in 1988 when he retired from farming. He then mowed at Forest Hill after his retirement. Ken loved and knew the outdoors. He cataloged trees, leaves, birds, and wildlife that he saw. He enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, and birdwatching. He also was an avid reader and Minnesota Twins fan. Ken was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Owatonna. He is survived by two sisters Bernice Eriksen of Huntley, IL; and Adeline Milusinic of Grand Junction, CO; special niece, Sharon (Gilbert) Kubicek of Cass Lake; many nieces and nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Gladys Weisjahn, Eldora Hunt, and Lillian King. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held September 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna with Heartland Hospice Chaplain Michael Longanecker officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Traditions of Owatonna, Heartland Hospice of Rochester, or donor's choice.
