Kenneth Clarence Radel, 68, of Owatonna, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Owatonna Hospital. He was born September 16, 1944 in Owatonna, Minnesota the son or Harlan and Lorraine (Krause) Radel. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1962. He enlisted into the United States Army Reserve on October 2, 1965 and was transferred into the Retired Reserve on December 15, 1993. He married Sonja Yentsch on March 25, 1966 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Owatonna. They made their home in Owatonna, until 1981 when they moved to his uncle''s farm in Deerfield Township. Ken was currently employed as a quality manager at Josten''s in Eagan. He worked for Josten''s for almost 50 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, and Eagles. Ken loved to hunt and farm. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his grandchildren, and taking fishing trips to Canada. He was outgoing and enjoyed being around people and socializing. He is survived by his wife, Sonja Radel of Owatonna; his children, Cindy (and Nghi) Radel-Nguyen of Owatonna, and John Radel of Mount Pleasant, SC; his grandchildren (triplets), Maxum, Lileigh, and Josaphine Nguyen; his brothers, Roger (and Madeline) Radel of Sevierville, TN, and Allan (and Randee) Radel of Owatonna; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew, Scot Radel. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Military honors will be provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to donor''s choice.
