Kevin Craig Butler, 60, of Owatonna, died Monday, February 26, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 21, 1957 in Newton, Iowa the son of Gale and Juanita (Meier) Butler. He lived in Newton, IA until 1968, Princeton, IL until 1970 and Attleboro, MA until 1974 when he moved to Owatonna. He graduated from Owatonna High School with the Class of 1976. On May 15, 1976, he married Donna Mae Spinler. The couple has lived all of their married life in Owatonna. Kevin worked at Hy-Vee, National Computer Systems, Air Plus and Logistics International. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, travel, sport shooting, auctions and eating and making good food. He was an avid sports fan following the Patriots, Red Sox, Twins, Vikings and the Gophers. Kevin especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Donna Butler of Owatonna; mother, Juanita Butler of Owatonna; children, Stephanie (and Nathan) Slack of Owatonna, Douglas (and Carrie) Butler of Owatonna and Matthew (and Allison) Butler of Owatonna; grandchildren, Hailey Butler, Jacob Butler, Katelyn Butler, Archie Butler and Lillian Slack; siblings, Kent D. Butler of Owatonna, Cheryl (and Rex) Buchanan of Owatonna, Annette (and Doug) Hatch of Knoxville, IA, Nicole (and Victor) Tolzman of Owatonna and Bob (and Donna) Ayers of Owatonna. He was preceded in death by father, Gale; niece, Elizabeth Lizzy Tolzman and nephew, Gable Hatch. A visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Thursday, March 1st from 4:00 to 6:00 PM and one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.
