Kevin M. Fisher, age 59, of Owatonna, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 14, 2025. On March 20, 1966, Kevin was born and raised in Owatonna, to Richard and Mary (Smith) Fisher, being a lifelong member of the community. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1984, and married his best friend, Amy in 1988. Together they would have six children until their divorce in 2007. During their marriage, Kevin had shown a passion and love for his family, leaving his job to stay home and take care of their children until they were old enough to be watched at a daycare.
Kevin had many jobs that he excelled at; he worked at Nick's Pizza for over 15 years, he owned and operated a gaming shop in Owatonna for 10 years and worked for Mystic Lake Casino for over 22 years. His passion for games, whether it be role playing games or online games, allowed Kevin to have a close bond with his three sons, Kaleb, Jacob and Zach. The boys have a collection of memories with their dad, especially the weekly nights that they would gather to play Dungeons and Dragons together. Kevin truly enjoyed this time together, the comradery and fellowship that built as friends gathered. In the last five years, Kevin had been an advocate for Austi-con in Austin, Minnesota, which is a Tabletop Gaming Convention, which supports those with autism in the community.
Kevin is survived by his mom, Mary; three sons: Kaleb, Jacob, and Zach Fisher; brother, Scott (Stacy) Palesotti; stepsisters, April Roemhildt and Jamie Avery; uncle, Gene (Judy) Fisher; lifelong friend and former wife, Amy Koshiol; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard and his three infant children: Briana, Drew, and Katie Fisher.
A gathering to celebrate Kevin's life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna, Minnesota. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home and Kevin will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
