Kimberly Andrea Cope, 62, of Minneapolis, died Monday, April 2, 2018 at her home of natural causes. She was born January 5, 1956 in Owatonna, Minnesota the daughter of Howard and Jeanette (Ahlers) Cope. She grew up in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1974. She continued her education in Willmar studying drafting. She then went to Mankato State and graduated with a degree in mass communications. Later on, while living in Minneapolis, she studied web design. Kimberly worked at the newspaper in Sleepy Eye for a while before moving to Minneapolis where she has lived and worked for over 30 years. In Minneapolis, she worked as a mail carrier, a postal inspector and most recently in the computer department at United Healthcare. Kimberly was an artistic and creative individual. She created seed art, feline collages, enjoyed photography and painted Peanuts On Parade statues. She enjoyed writing whitty and personalized greeting cards for her family. She loved entering sweepstakes and actually won prizes and vacations. She was a member of a Mensa Club and was a proofer for ACT test questions. She enjoyed traveling with her sister around the United States and a few other countries. She liked adventure; skydiving, ziplines and rides at the Minnesota State Fair, attending it nearly every day. She is survived by her aunt, Adrienne Rothgarn of Owatonna; siblings, Karen Cope of Minneapolis and James (Nancy) Cope of Albert Lea; nephew Geoffrey Cope of Minneapolis; niece, Kaitlin Cope of Minneapolis; her two cats, Itty Bitty and Hot Pockets and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jeanette and uncle, Orville Rothgarn. NOTE CHANGE OF DATE OF SERVICE DUE TO SNOW STORM Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Saturday, April 21st from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held April 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Steele Center Cemetery.
