Kyle A. Nelson, 38, of Owatonna, died unexpectedly Friday, November 5, 2010 at his home. Kyle was born December 27, 1971 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of James and Ivah (Walker) Nelson. When he was young, the family moved to Muskego, Wisconsin and later to Owatonna where Kyle graduated from high school in 1990. He then attended Mankato Sate University for two years. He returned to Owatonna and worked for Kwik Trip. He married Angie Schmidt on August 17, 2002 in Owatonna. The couple later divorced. Kyle was employed for GCO Carpet in Burnsville for over 10 years. At the time of his death, Kyle was studying full time to become a police officer. Kyle was a very smart man and goal orientated. He was very caring and will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his son, Jacob Nelson of Owatonna, special friend and mother to Jacob, Angie Nelson of Owatonna; mother, Ivah Nelson of Owatonna; a brother, Matthew (and Carridy) Nelson of Faribault; sister, Sara Nelson (and Craig Hoffman) of Owatonna; grandmother, Pansy Nelson of Austin; and nephews and nieces, Hunter Nelson, Wyatt Nelson, Desiree Nelson, Dakota Nelson, Jessica Hoffman and Mackenzie Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his father James Nelson; his grandfather, Laverne Nelson, and grandparents, Ivan and Gwen Walker. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with The Reverend Dean Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna.
