LaDonna Mae Deming, 86, of Faribault, died peacefully Friday, August 31, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born November 30, 1931 in Brush Creek Township the daughter of Harry and Esther (Mattick) Yonkey. As a youth, LaDonna was active in F.H.A and the Luther League. She enjoyed singing in the OHS choir and loved vocal competitions. LaDonna was proud to be an OHS Caroler. She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1950 with a letter in music and was the first recipient of the home making award during her senior year. On December 31, 1950 she married, The love of her life, Keith Deming at St. John Lutheran Church. The couple farmed for 22 years prior to moving to Cannon Lake in 1979. LaDonna also worked at Federated Insurance, St. John Lutheran Church and Farm Bureau office. In 1981, she became a real estate agent and finished her career as the owner and agent of Cannon River Crop Insurance Agency.
LaDonna was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was active as council president, ALCW president, was a member of Crusaders Club and helped organized the Marketplace. She also served as Farm Bureau Auxiliary President, as a 4-H leader and a volunteer at the Faribault Senior Center.
She is survived by daughters, Pat Giesler of Morristown, Barb (and Denny) Meier of Mankato; son, Perry (and Traudy Nordine) Deming of Faribault; grandsons, Aaron (and Val) Meier, Derek Meier; great grandchildren, Rylan, Addison, Kennedy, Ashlee; sisters-in-law, Joan (and Don) Opseth of Austin, Janet Meyer of Janesville and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Deming; son-in-law, Glen Giesler; brothers-in-law, Sterling (and Shirley) Deming, Jr., James Deming, Curtis Meyer.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm and at St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 1pm to 2pm. Memorial services will be held September 5, 2018 at 2pm at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Jacie Richmond officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church, Ronald McDonald House or to the donor's choice.
