Larry Holthus, 65, of Tenstrike, passed away peacefully Friday, May 31, 2013. He was born December 27, 1947 in Waseca the son of Lloyd and Lois (Krassin) Holthus. He attended Owatonna High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving his country in Korea. He married Carolyn Buss on January 4, 1969 in Claremont. He was employed at Owatonna Ford in the body shop and later became partner/owner of the Owatonna Napa store. He retired in 2007 and moved to the lake at Tenstrike. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR races. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at his lake home. He had a real gift of gab. Larry is survived by his wife, Carolyn; two sons, Clint (and Stephanie) Holthus of Janesville, Clay (and Angie) Holthus of Eyota; daughter, Lisa (and Ron) White of Chisholm; brothers, Leroy (and Becky) Holthus, Lynn Holthus, Loel (and Lynne) Holthus all of Owatonna, Lee (and Diane) Holthus of Waseca, Lane (and Dawn) Holthus of Janesville; sister, Linda Erdman (and special friend Tom Strand) of Hope; eight grandchildren; step father, Jim Wanous of Owatonna; step brother, Kevin (and Patti) Wanous of Owatonna and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Judy Holthus. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, June 3 from 4pm to 7pm and at St. John Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10am to 11am. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11am at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Private family interment will be held after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Brock Holthus Benefit for Larry's grandson Brock.
