Larry Melvin Quaale, 82, of Hayfield, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Timberdale Trace surrounded by family.
He was born May 17, 1943, in Owatonna, to Julius and Iona (Strandemo) Quaale. Larry was united in marriage to Judy Ann Jensen on November 1, 1963, in Owatonna. They had 34 wonderful years together until her passing in March of 1998. He worked as a mason for John Sahf for several years before founding Reliable Concrete, and later Quaale Masonry, working until 2016 when he retired. In his free time, Larry loved to watch football, and the Minnesota Vikings were his favorite. He enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, trips to Vegas with his wife and in later years going to Diamond Joes. Larry especially enjoyed his time with his family. He was always on the go, meeting and talking with new people everywhere he went. He will be greatly missed!
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (and Jeff) Johnson of Dodge Center; son, Scott (and Stephanie) Quaale of Claremont; grandchildren Brandon Johnson, Jennie Johnson, Misty Langley, and Dustin Johnson, and Dylan Quaale; great-grandchildren, Alize, Jaedyn, Gavin, Jayce, Trinitee, Tye, Destinee, Ryin; great-great-grandchild, Wrenley. Sisters, Judi, Boni, DiAnn, and Debbie; brothers, Jim and Gary; daughter-in-law, Cindy Quaale; friend and companion Adeline Sanvick, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Judy Quaale; son, Bobby; great granddaughter, Alexa; sister, JoAnn; brother, Robert; nephews, Troy, Tony, and Cody.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 2PM at Concord Cemetery in Concord Township. To follow join the family at American Legion in Dodge Center from 4pm-7pm, to celebrate Larry's life. The grandchildren Brandon, Jennie, Misty, Dustin & Dylan will have the honor of being casket bearers.
