Larry F. Torgerson, 76, of O'Fallon, Missouri formerly of Owatonna, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Larry was born September 29, 1938 in Cosmos, Minnesota the son of Floyd and Gertrude (Buck) Torgerson. He was raised in Litchfield, Minnesota and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1956. Following high school, Larry attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and played football. After attending Barber College, he moved to Owatonna where he worked as a barber and later for VIP Realty. Larry was a founding partner of Action Realty and Owatonna Builders in Owatonna. He began working at Realty World and then managed St. Paul Clothier's in Owatonna. Larry had always enjoyed horses and took a position as the national sales manager for The Arabian Horse Times magazine located out of Waseca, Minnesota and then the national sales director for the Arabian Horse World magazine out of San Luis Obispo, California. Following his retirement, he continued making his home in Owatonna before moving to Byron, Minnesota and eventually O'Fallon, Missouri. Larry was blessed with many talents. He was gifted in painting, drawing and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. From early on Larry enjoyed sports and played baseball in his younger years and then softball. He enjoyed a good round of golf, being on the lake fishing or even bowling. He followed the Minnesota Vikings and watched the Minnesota Gophers in both football and basketball. Larry was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening. Larry was very proud to have served as a member of the Army National Guard. He will be sadly missed by his family and all of the friends he made over the years. He is survived by a son Daniel (and Laurie) Torgerson of Wentzville, MO; three daughters, Stephanie Sipprell of Eden Prairie; Anne (and Les) Aune of Rosemount; Lori (and fianc�©e Joel Cockram) Torgerson Pinkley of Rochester; a brother, Jim (and Barb) Torgerson of Bartlett, IL; 11 grandchildren and a great grandson He was preceded in death by his parents; and youngest brother Paul Torgerson Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, Owatonna on Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna immediately following the service.
