Laura E. Marik, age 88, of Owatonna died Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Birchwood Cottages in Owatonna. Laura Edna Marik was born on August 14, 1929 in Faribault, Minnesota the daughter of Leonard and Celesta (Culp) Spitzack. She attended grade school in Morristown, Lutheran Parochial school in Faribault and Gibbon High School in Gibbon. On June 20, 1951 she married Lavern Marik. The couple made their home in Owatonna. After moving to Owatonna, she worked at Pillsbury Academy, Owatonna Canning Co., Corner Caf�© on Cedar Street and worked in several homes in town. She is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Owatonna. She enjoyed flowers, singing, dancing and camping out. Survivors include her husband, Lavern of Owatonna; sons, Larry (LaDonna) Marik of Waseca, Randy Marik and Jim Marik of Pratt; daughters, Judy (David) Stanton of Owatonna and Lori Schroeder of Webster; sisters, Betty Danielson of Pine Island, Kathryn (Boyd) Gasner of Eyota and Sharon (Jim) Borst of Deer River; six grandsons and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frederich Spitzack and Neil Spitzack; grandson, Dean St. Martin; son-in-law, Michael Schroeder. Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 4-7pm and at church on Thursday one hour prior to the service. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Owatonna with Reverend Kirk Griebel officiating.
