Laura Emily Tuttle, 88, of Owatonna, died Thursday, April 4, 2019, at her home under the professional care of her hospice team.
She was born September 17, 1930, in Medford, Minnesota the daughter of George and Gladys (Bailey) Lee. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford. She grew up in Medford where she attended school. On July 29, 1947, she married Lyle Tuttle in Medford. The couple made their home in Medford where they raised their family. During this time, Laura worked at the Owatonna Hospital in central supply. In January, 1976, the couple moved to Nevada where she earned her LPN certification. Following Lyle's death in 1983, she returned to Minnesota living in Medford, Faribault and Owatonna after retirement. Laura continued her education once she returned to Minnesota earning her RN certification. She worked as an RN at the Faribault State Hospital for many years until her retirement.
Laura was a lifetime and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford where she participated in many activities over the years. At the time of her death, she held the distinction of being a member of the church for the longest amount of time. She also enjoyed all kinds of needle work and playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
She is survived by children, Louise (Ron) Gregory of Jackson, Lisa (Bill) Shamp of Owatonna, Lyle "Butch" Tuttle of Medford and Lana (Roy) Russell of Douglassville, PA; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Jarva of Northfield; brother, Donny Lee of St. Louis Park; sister-in-law, Gloria Timm of Medford; brother-in-law, Alton (Marcella) Tuttle of Owatonna; many nieces and nephews and special friends Doug and Bev Hughes and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gladys; step-mother, Esther Lee; husband, Lyle Tuttle; siblings, Betty Johns, Ronnie Lee, David Lee, Annabelle Lee, Carol Witt and Rick Lee and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna on Friday, April 12th from 4-7pm and at Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford on Saturday from 9-10am. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 10am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford with The Reverend Mark Biebighauser officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery rural Medford. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or Allina Hospice - Owatonna and Faribault chapter.
