LaVon Jean Underdahl, 96, of La Crosse, WI and formerly of Kenyon died at the home of her daughter Lynn, surrounded by her children.
She was born November 27, 1929, in Brush Creek Township in the county of Faribault, MN to Jesse Amundson and Alma Kvale Amundson. One of 5 children, LaVon and her family moved to the Kenyon area when she was 15. She attended Kenyon High School where she graduated in 1947. LaVon met and was courted by Peter Underdahl. They were married on July 11, 1948, and settled in Kenyon.
LaVon was a wonderful homemaker and raised 3 children. In 1967, the family moved to St. James, MN where they developed many lifelong friends. They returned to Kenyon in 1997. LaVon enjoyed playing cards and was involved in local bridge groups. She enjoyed golfing at the Kenyon Golf Course, where she often received awards in tournaments. She and Peter enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. In 2023, LaVon moved to Eagle Crest assisted living in La Crosse, WI. She loved playing bingo and attending church services as well as visits to Lynn and Brad's home on the Mississippi. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a great "rummy" card player.
