LaVonne Francis Brunner, 73, of Owatonna, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Homestead Hospice House surrounded by her loving family after a very courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born July 20, 1935 in Sanborn the daughter of Willard and Genevieve (Ramsbacher) Hemmingsen. LaVonne brought happiness and a warm sense of humor to those who knew her throughout her life. Her love, commitment and dedication to her family will be with them always as a shining example of what it truly means to be a wife, mother, grandmother and sister. LaVonne loved reading, gardening, decorating her house, quilting, crafting and most of all, spending time with family and friends. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years, James Brunner of Owatonna; children, Michael (and Laura) Brunner of Savage, Susan (and Chuck) Grubish of Owatonna, Jeffery (and Joan) Brunner of Roseville, Paul (and Lauri) Brunner of Maple Grove; twelve adoring grandchildren, Emily, Christopher, Elizabeth, Anna, Joey, Megan, Allison, Ryan, Katie, Aaron, Colleen, Thomas; sisters, Linda (and Larry) Rathmann of New Ulm, Sandy (and Tom) Kraemer of Dassel, Patty Hemmingsen of Mankato; brothers, Jim (and Diane) Hemmingsen of Sandborn, Dennis (and Kathy) Hemmingsen of Scottsdale, Mark (and Robin) Hemmingsen of Slayton and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, 2 nephews, Monty and John, and an infant sister. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday from 10-11am. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend John Sauer officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice House or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network(pancan.org).
