Leila M. Stenbakken, 85, of Faribault, formerly of Nerstrand died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Ivy Hills Senior Care in Faribault. She was born May 18, 1930 in Winnebago, Minnesota the daughter of Max and Clarinda (Partlow) Dahms. Leila was raised at the state orphanage school in Owatonna. She was married to Rueben Boevers and they later divorced. She then married Russell Stenbakken on November 5, 1970 in Dennison. Leila was an excellent cook and bread maker, and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her children Rueben Jr. (Connie) Boevers of Apple Valley, Ramona (Donald) Baalson of Faribault, Rose (Mike) Stenbakken of Nerstrand, and John Boevers of Nerstrand, and her step son Steven (Gina) Stenbakken of Dennison. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 26, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home, Kenyon with The Reverend Don Kloster officiating. Interment will be in the Valley Grove Cemetery in Nerstrand.
